3 Beach Resorts I Can’t Wait to Book for Destination Weddings in 2025

These days destination weddings account for about 25% of the wedding market and this trend is not disappearing anytime soon! With Millennials and Gen Z deciding to get married later in life, and with these generations having travel built into their DNA (so to speak), we will see this number continue to climb for years to come.

Now, destination weddings of course don’t have to be in a sunny destination! Though the thought of sand in my toes and a tequila soda in hand while taking in the beautiful ocean in some tropical part of the world is enough to make me want to renew my own vows (sorry husband)! But for the purpose of this post, I am going to stick with my top 3 sunny resort picks for those who are opting to say I Do, under the sun.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera, Mexico

First up, Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun! Perfect for the laid-back couple who doesn’t want to skimp on any luxury.

This family-friendly luxury resort is a convenient 20 minute journey from the Cancun airport. Combine that with direct flights from many Canadian gateways makes for an ideal beach destination for those who don’t want to travel too far. What I love most about this resort, apart from the stunning ocean views, is its beach cottage theme rooms and boutique feel with the limited 148 rooms.

Sanctuary Cap Cana, Punta Cana

Sanctuary Cap Cana is an adults-only romantic hideaway in the Cap Cana region of Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. They feature a world-class spa, amazing dining, and rooms featuring architecture fit for kings and queens. I absolutely love all the stone details throughout the property. It makes me feel like I’m in an old coastal town in Europe (or a princess in the medieval times, ha). Weddings here are breathtaking and I’d absolutely recommend this spot for an intimate elopement as well.

Sidebar: Before booking our trip to Maui this fall, I was actually meant to visit this resort. So with the amount of research I did on this property and the surrounding area, I feel like I’ve already been there and would be SO excited to send clients here!

Dreams Las Mareas, Costa Rica

Nestled in the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica you’ll find Dreams Las Mareas Resort & Spa. Picture a sandy beachfront ceremony surrounded by lush tropical jungle and all of your most important people.

I love Dreams Las Mareas and Costa Rica for many reasons, but number one has to be the sheer amount of activities to enjoy on the resort and off before and after the wedding. Not to mention Dreams is a family friendly all-inclusive so you can include all of the littles in your life on your special day.

When it comes down to it though, your destination wedding should feel uniquely and authentically you. And any good travel advisor will take the time to get to know the couples story, travel preferences, theme and overall vision before recommending any resort, property or destination for their nuptials.

Ever thought about planning a destination wedding? I’d be honoured to help you with this part of your story.

Yours in travel: Kelsey
